Weight Loss and Acai Berries

http://www.weightlosssecret.info
People who have never tried Acai berries will often wonder what they will have to do in terms of daily diet to make the move to an Acai diet effective. It is fair to say that if your current diet has caused you to gain weight, then merely supplementing it with Acai berries is not going to have as much of an effect as you would ideally hope. The way an Acai-based weight loss plan should work is that you use Acai berries to replace something in your diet that is causing you to take too many calories.

The plan of replacing one food with another is something that has always had a strong history in dietary plans. Replacing white bread with wholemeal or rye, replacing sugary breakfast cereals with something bran-based or otherwise healthy, and so forth – these are tried and trusted methods of weight loss and in general they work. In some cases, this has to do not only with the lower calorie count in the replacement food, but also in that they allow the body to process other foodstuffs much better. High fiber, among other things, allows the body to work more in sync and keep weight off.

With Acai berries, the best way of using them is to replace sugary snacks or potato chips, or to have Acai berry powder as an alternative method of sweetening a dessert. There are other ways, depending on the form in which you have bought your Acai supplement. A good plan will come with tips for effective use.

Insulin Resistance and weight gain

What is Insulin Resistance

Insulin Resistance is a significant factor for type 2 diabetes. It is present in most people with this condition. It has been reported that up to a quarter of the population has at least some degree of insulin resistance.

To make it easier to understand what insulin resistance is, lets simplify it.
Insulin is a hormone produced by the pancreas. It specifically controls glucose (sugar levels) in the blood. In many people, particularly those with type 2 diabetes, the insulin that the body produces does not work as well as it should and there is an increase in its production to compensate. People with insulin resistance will have higher than normal levels of insulin in their blood stream so that they can maintain normal blood glucose levels. Basically it means that their insulin is not working effectively.

Excess weight contributes to insulin resistance as too much fat interferes with the muscles ability to use insulin. Lack of exercise reduces the muscles ability to use insulin.

Often, people with insulin resistance and high blood glucose have excess weight around the waist. There good cholesterol levels or HDL is low and their bad cholesterol or LDL is high. They often have high blood pressure and all these conditions put the heart at risk. A cluster of problems is called metabolic syndrome or insulin resistance syndrome.

Making the necessary dietary changes and incorporating exercise will help to dramatically reduce the risk of diseases associated with this syndrome

Why The Best Acne Treatment May Be a Change in Diet

This article explains why the best possible treatment for acne may be a change in diet.
Western medicine is notoriously sophisticated when it comes to drug formulations and targeted medicine approached from a perspective based in deductive science. It has, however, been largely a failure when it comes to being open to solutions to medical problems which come from outside the realm of deductive science. That is why for years western medicine failed to draw ties between diet and acne. Medical development, and treatments for acne sufferers, has progressed significantly within the last 15 years alone. Yet the problem of acne has remained largely uncurbed, until recently.
In the past few years empirical studies first trickled and are now flooding in indicating that there are links between acne and diet. The basic premise of the research is that eating refined carbohydrates and sugar is the ultimate culprit for many individuals’ problems with acne. The scientific theory holds that when carbohydrates and sugar are metabolized they lead to an increase in insulin and an insulin-like growth factor called IGF-1 production. This growth factor then causes male hormones to begin being produced in the body in much greater quantities. These growth hormones lead directly to an increase the amount of sebum produced. Sebum is the grease-like substance that comes out in your pores which people often describe as ‘oily skin’. Sebum then clogs your pores and ultimately causes to an accumulation of bacteria in those pores which cannot escape because of the sebum. This of course ultimately leads to acne.
That rather exhaustive explanation explains simply this; when you consume refined carbohydrates and sugars you may aggravate your skin, clog your pores, and develop acne. So, what is the answer? Not surprisingly, it may be to cut back on sugars and refined carbs such as sweets and pastas. These foods provide us with very few of the nutrients we need while providing us with a great deal more by way of clogged pores. In fact, recent studies are showing that these foods may be so bad for you that your body actually fights them like it does a disease, through the production of white blood cells. Not only do these white blood cell expenditures temporarily lower your immune system, but they also cause your body to produce more waste, some of which is exuded through your pores.
But it may surprise you to know that giving up chocolate and spaghetti may not be the only way to go about getting clearer skin. Rather, there are a number of foods, in particular raw vegetables and antioxidants which can actively clear up skin. These foods act as a sort of mop within the body to soak up toxins, also known as free radicals, which are often expelled as bacteria through the skin.
So in effect, following a better diet can attack the problem of acne in two different ways, cutting back on sugars and refined carbs will cause your body to produce less of the pore clogging sebum, while increasing your intake of certain raw vegetables will significantly cut down on the amount of bacteria which is exuded through your pores. Combined, these two techniques will cut down significantly your propensity to suffer acne.

Studies also show that certain vitamins and minerals can boost hormone levels, increase nerve sensitivity, and make sex sizzle in all sorts of subtle yet noticeable ways and these vitamins can also lower your blood pressure.
According to an article in Internal Medicine, physical activity is associated with a lower risk for erectile dysfunction. The Journal of Sexual Medicine found that clinical exercise interventions and lowering your blood pressure have been shown to improve sexual responses

Healthy Eating and exercise will ensure that you rid your body of toxins ensuring that you will have more energy for sex. Also, not snacking and eating three sensible healthy meals a day will allow the bodies hormones to break down fat and release amounts of human growth hormone and inturn this will allow your libido to increase. By exercising you will lower your blood pressure inturn helping to increase your libido.
Try three meals a day with a minimum of five hours between meals and ensure you only drink clear fluids between meals to activate the hormones responsible for improving your Human growth hormone production. Give up snacking and lose weight!

I have worked with hundreds of people to lose weight successfully. The best kept secret to weight loss is to eat only 3 meals a day and not eat between meals. Just have herbal tea or clear soda water.
Why is this so??? Because if you do not eat between meals and allow around 4-6 hours between eating you will allow all the hormones in your body to work and one is HGH which will burn fat, make you have a better immune function and will help to elevate your moods.

So ensure you have breakfast, lunch and dinner and skip morning tea and afternoon tea and shed some kilos. It really works!
